Flights and Airport Transfers

The best airports to fly to are Salzburg or Munich. They are a 90 minute drive from Inneralpbach (Innsbruck is the closest but tends to be more expensive as it is surrounded by mountains and the cheaper airlines tend not to fly there). Please look at the following carriers for cheaper deals: Jet2, Ryan Air, Easyjet and Thomson fly.

EasyJet now fly to Innsbruck (40 mins drive from Haus Hislop) from Bristol, Liverpool & London Gatwick.

Transfers By Taxi:

Especially for larger groups, you can take a taxi/mini bus from the local taxi firm. No waiting at all then. The cost of a taxi from Innsbruck airport is €90 – approx. 80 pounds. (40 minute drive. From Salzberg €180 - approx. 160 pounds. From Munich €180 – approx. 160 pounds. Both are an hour and a half drive. I would advise to book sooner rather than later especially in the high seasons.

Transfers By Bus:

There is a company called 'Four Seasons' who could bring you door to door. You would need to book at least 4 days before travel. Tel.no. 0043 512584157 or alternatively contact them through their website;

Transfers By Train:

Train services are excellent and frequent trains from Innsbruck, Salzburg (The train station is a 10 minute bus or 5 minute taxi ride from the airport. Trains run from Munich airport. Express trains (ICE, IC,EC) stop at the express train stations Jenbach or Wörgl (both stations are about 15km from Inneralpbach). Regional trains stop at Brixlegg or Rattenberg stations. Special holiday trains run in the winter.

Further rail information, train timetables and route information can be obtained from www.oebb.at and www.db.de or email Claire: haushislop@aon.at

Hiring a Car:

A good option is to hire a car. You would then have it to move around during your stay. Although a car is not necessary at all in the winter. Everything is within a 5 minutes’ walk.

Directions by Road:

Follow signs for Innsbruck and then the Inn valley motorway A12. Take the motorway to the exit Kramsach. Follow signs to The Alpbachtal Valley, through Brixlegg and Reith and then up the mountain (about 5 km) to Alpbach. Inneralpbach is sign posted right off the main road. Alpbach a turn to the left. Take the road to Inneralpbach. Straight ahead for 3 km. You will pass the Inneralpbach gondola station on the right and then the road seems to come to a dead end. On the left The Galtenberg Hotel. Go past it to the left. ( Ahead is a green sign post with Haus Hislop on the top left.) And it immediately bends round to the right around an old barn. (Take care at this blind bend) In about 50m there's a sharp bend to the left after about 25m Haus Hislop is the second house on the right with 2 brown double garages. If you get to the Zirmalm you've gone too far.

Searching Haus Hislop on Google Maps provides good directions if you would rather print a map out.
